R-2 Climate adaptation and the Copenhagen process

Three plenary round-table discussions will focus on the processes and issues in the application and communication of climate information and services between providers of climate predictions and information and users needing climate information and services. Each round table will involve four to eight experts with a balance of background, experience and expertise.

Roberto Acosta is the current coordinator of the Adaptation Technology and Science Programme of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Coordinator of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA). He has held these positions since April 2006 and January 2007 respectively. He joined the secretariat in 1997 and assumed the position of manager of the Inventories subprogramme in 2001.
Before joining the UNFCCC secretariat, Mr. Acosta was a Convening lead author on Adaptation matters in the Second Assessment Report of the IPCC. He has more than 20 years experience on environmental, technology and climate change issues and is a chemical engineer who holds a PhD degree".
